Apparently Aegis Mortgage Corporation is suffering problems because of the worsening housing and credit markets.

Aegis Mortgage Corporation is based in Houston, Texas and their owners include private-equity firm Cerberus Capital Management.

According to news reports, an Aegis Mortgage spokeswoman has said that Aegis Mortgage Corporation has notified the appropriate mortgage loan brokers–the company told them that Aegis Mortgage Corporation will not be able to fund loans that are “currently in the pipeline.”

Aegis Mortgage Corporation currently has about thirty branches in the United States that remain open.
